Relax & Rejuvenate With a Detox Bath
Indulging in a detox bath is the ultimate self-care ritual, especially during the cold winter months. We are constantly exposed to toxins through our water, food, air, and even stress. A detox both helps flush out these toxins through lymphatic drainage and also supports our nervous system.
Benefits of Detox Baths
Activates the body’s detoxification system
Promotes relaxation and stress relief
Improves skin health
Relieves muscle pain
Boosts sleep quality
Encourages better circulation throughout the body
Detox Bath Recipe
1-2 cups of epsom salt or magnesium flakes
2 tbsp bentonite clay
2 tbsp mustard bath
A few drops of your favorite essential oil (lavender and eucalyptus are my favorites)
NOTE: Be sure to hop in the shower for a few minutes after the detox bath to wash away any toxins left on your skin!
There are lots of other detox recipes so I would encourage you to experiment and find your favorite combinations. There are also some great done-for-you options out there. Here are two of my favorite brands:

When To Use
Before bedtime: This is my favorite way to unwind after the kids go to bed. I try to sit in a detox bath for ~20 minutes 1-3 nights per week. I love to grab a good book or put on my favorite podcast while I soak.
At the first sign of illness: If I feel the symptoms of a cold coming on I will try to sit in a detox bath if I feel up to it. While I wouldn’t recommend if you have a fever, epsom salt can help soothe aches and pain and promotes relaxation that can boost the immune system.
When you have sore muscles: Magnesium is known to reduce muscle pain, cramps, and inflammation so a detox bath is also great after a strenuous workout.
